This particular device is an AR-15/M4 upper receiver Super Reaction Rod. The Super Reaction Rod aides in the removal of over torqued, seized or Loctited barrel nuts. It works by pre-loading the barrel nut extensions to the lugs of the super reaction rod eliminating any movement before adding the torque to the barrel nut. Just like the Reaction Rod, the Super Reaction Rod is designed to be gripped in a bench vise so that the rod is either horizontal or vertical.
